Thanks for the explanation. At this point, I would say something else to express my gratitude, but I don't know what to say. So, I'll just say thank you and wish you much success in your future projects.
Conceptually this feels like a better focused Brigaddor, in poroduction value, given enough time you could get better than them (but they're pretty good!)
Anyways, take my MCDonald Meal, I really hope you get this game as feature complete as you wish it to be.
Hi, first of i just want to mention how absolutely stunning this game is, no other game (that iv played) has hit me so hard with its beauty, i adore the art style and speedy feel everything has. I want to say more however whenever i click to deploy the game crashes and gives me this error code:
Hello. To fix that error, please download and install this DirectX patch from the Microsoft website. This will fix any shader compile errors you are having.
And the best part about this game for me is that it can be ran on my potato computer.
I'm happy to hear this. I want as many people with low-end computers to be able to play this game as possible, since I too use a very obsolete PC.
I just wanted to ask you that, will you add any types of multiplayer mode.(co-op mode or whatever.
While I can't promise an online multiplayer mode or co-op mode right now, I would like to eventually try to add some basic multiplayer modes where you can fight against other players online or alongside them in an endless survival mode. We'll see what happens.
Thank you for making this great game and I do really hope that you will get a great fame.
That is very kind! Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it.
Hello there, just wanted to say that I appreciate all the effort and time you've put into the game and I saw you mentioning that you'd have to run a VM in order to compile the game in Linux, is there any way I could help with this? I do have a Linux capable computer with decent specs laying around. Cheers
Hello. Thank you for the offer to help. I'm afraid it's something I'll have to do myself. I recently acquired a second laptop though, so I'll see if I can experiment with a VM to compile a Linux version.
Hey there. I'm starting a new site called Conflex Games that is specifically dedicated to PC games that work well with profiler programs, like JoyToKey. This game doesn't force any controls on gamepads, so it meets the minimum criteria for appearing on the site. Would you be okay with me creating a link to this page?
This game is already compatible with hundreds of controllers - it's just that you a have to run a profiler to make those work. Conflex Games is indeed okay with showcasing games that contain controller impositions, as long as they're specific to Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox controllers. Conflex doesn't showcase games that impose controls *generically*. The goal is to avoid games that will force controls on "any kind of D-pad" or "any kind of Button 5".
Amazing. If you plan to publish the full game one day, I am playing on day one!
My feedback: Mech armor/visual customization will be added hopefully :) Seeing enemies is hard sometimes. Maybe it is just me, but in some environments, they blend a bit. UI style is amazing, but if the environment is yellow(ish) and the UI border is also yellow, they blend a bit and hurt my eyes. You could make the opacity darker for UI elements during gameplay maybe? Pixel art mechs are awesome, but I think the game would benefit from very small cutscenes (just still images would do because I know how hard it is to animate).
Pros: great sound design, pixel art/3D pixel art, punchy and satisfying effects, cool gun models, and top-notch environmental destruction. All my feedback is personal, so I hope the game will be enjoyable for everyone who knows about mecha/shoot 'em ups more than I do :)

This is planned, though I may end up reworking the whole hangar system since a lot more modules and upgrades would make it a bit hard to manage on that single screen.
Maybe it is just me, but in some environments, they blend a bit.
I'll see if I can improve their readability more.

I've actually re-worked the in game UI recently, it should be a lot clearer and easy to read in the next updated.
Pixel art mechs are awesome, but I think the game would benefit from very small cutscenes (just still images would do because I know how hard it is to animate).
I'm on stock windows 11 but when I try to run it from the itch.io manager or as a zip nothing opens. Initially it gave me a windows defender warning but I clicked run anyway but now that doesn't come up. Tried opening the exe as an admin too. In the manager it clearly thinks that the game is open but it never appears anywhere. Existing problem?
DirectX patch is installed at this link from the main page. Directplay is enabled via windows features > legacy features > directplay + restart.
I've tried opening the file from an extracted zip via the exe file and also with 'run as admin' and also through the itch.io launcher including 'enabled sandbox' checked.
For what ever reason, it registers the click, shows loading, 'last played x minutes ago' but does nothing at all. Surely this is a problem with my windows specifically but I can't for the life of me figure out what.
Looked around, came across this Microsoft answers page. The person who made the topic said they managed to get it to run by giving it unrestricted access under properties. I assume Windows 11 is blocking it since it's an old engine and is suspicious of it. Try that and see if it works.
Sadly this did not work. I've tried a few other things and here were my findings.
1. Tried that link and fiddled with compatibility mode trying windows 7, vista and 95.
2. Tried what the forum post says which is to give 'unrestricted access' but there is no option like that in properties, I am the admin and I already have all the access I can see.
No difference noted. I did some more digging and found that when I launch I can see the app open in task manager briefly and then closes. Sometimes it also has another program that opens briefly before it closes called WerFault.exe.
Looked into WerFault.exe and found indications to look into the reliability monitor on windows where I can see windows is logging errors when ever it's tried to open. Followed that down and the suggestions were to run sfc, disable windows defender (a common suggestion) and more.
I tried running SFC, disabled windows defender as much as windows will allow me to and tried all the above again (compability mode etc). No dice. I also looked at the printout of the reli monitor to see if the web had anything but no dice.
I think that I'm stuck and also scratching my head. I'm really not certain as to why it simply won't open as I have not seen this on other apps or itch.io games.
For now I'm out of ideas and have nothing else to try and it's probably not a priority given I've seen no one else having this issue. However if you decide you wish to investigate then let me know and I can provide any diagnostic material you want.
I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm not sure if there's any other people here using Windows 11 who could offer help, but I'm going to look into it a bit further and see if I can find a solution.
The only thing I can think of right now is to maybe try and redownload the game and then maybe unzip the folder with a program like 7zip assuming you did it using the regular Windows unzip function? I know the chances are slim, but there really shouldn't be anything wrong with the game itself. One other person did say redownloading it fixed some strange crashes.
And I have some suggestions: 1. The screen shakes too much when the crosshair moves, which can cause dizziness; 2. The crosshair color is not distinct against the background. Could we have the option to customize the crosshair color? 3. I hope there will be corresponding changes on the model when switching weapons.
The screen shakes too much when the crosshair moves, which can cause dizziness;
There is a screenshake option in the settings, but eventually I plan on also having the option to disable all camera smoothing/lerp movement for maximum precision.
The crosshair color is not distinct against the background. Could we have the option to customize the crosshair color?
This is planned, you'll be able to set it to high contrast black and white.
3. I hope there will be corresponding changes on the model when switching weapons.
So... about a week ago I played this and I was so amazed that I couldn't help but do a mini review on my channel. Thank you MezzSoft for delivering such a work of art, please keep it up you're doing really great!!.
Thank you so much for playing and making a review! That's some really high effort editing, very nicely done. No worries about it being in Spanish, I watched it with the auto-translated subtitles. It's great <3
The amount of effort you put into your game is such that it took me 6 minutes just to scratch the surface of your work. Thank you so much and again, keep up the good work because you have passion MezzSoft.
BRO... It's cool as shit! Can't wait to buy when is finished. Game's dope. As a fellow curios game developer, how many people are working on it and from how much time? :)
I have played the DEMO many times, it is a masterpiece, looking forward to the day when the work is completed. Will there be custom mechs with backstories and plots in the future? Hopefully it will be available on steam store in the future.

The story and world that we can sense at this point is great, but it would be great if more detailed lore and story could be added. I think the character designs are attractive and it would be nice if the pilots could speak more often.
I plan on further developing the world and story in addition to some characters. I realize right now with just the mission descriptions and random pilot pop-ups there isn't much to go off of, but there's a lot more planned.
it felt like playing the tame version of Armored Core, Pls add melee in further update as well variants for chassis and legs. It's really an awesome Game
omfg, just finsihed it. THIS IS SO GOOD. Sound design, graphics/art, music, vibes, story, everything is so amazing. I never got into mech games, though I always wanted to. But I am into this heavily! I can't wait for it to come out!
Ah, what a shame it’s Windows-only. It looks so good. Having it on macOS and with controller support would be such a treat. I would love to pay for it. The Linux build sounds promising, though. Keep up the good work.
Sorry about that. If there was an easy way to compile a Mac and Linux version I would have it on the page already, but unfortunately it requires an actual Mac computer and setting up a VM for Linux.
If I really need funding I'll consider it, but for now I'm fine with just having an option to donate a dollar here. Development is progressing slowly but steadily.
This looks super rad. Vaguely reminds me of playing Bolo on the mac in the computer lab back in the 1990s. If you don't mind me asking what is the font/s used in the weapon select menu screen?
That classic game and its setting has been an inspiration to me for a long time, I'm glad someone else knows about it.
If you don't mind me asking what is the font/s used in the weapon select menu screen?
I created all of the pixel fonts in the hangar myself. They don't really have names, they're just labelled like "font_terminal0", "font_terminal_small", etc.

Gave it a try! The controls are very tight. Reminds me of Ghost in the Shell.
Thanks for playing it! GITS is a light inspiration as well.
any discord to join? would love to follow progress, etc.:)
No Discord for now, but I'll be putting up a devlog showing some of the progress hopefully in the near future.
any way to play this on Steamdeck? Is there a Linux compatible version coming out?
A few people wrote that they managed to get it running on the Steam deck via Proton emulator, but I don't own a deck myself so I'm not sure about the steps required to get it running.
Don't have any experiences with Steamdeck, but on GNU/Linux (Fedora) I was able to make the .exe run with Lutris and Wine (using latest GE-Proton as setting).
Wow! Nice! I’m not the best with this stuff and I’m asking a lot but any way you could give a super quick walkthrough? If not totally cool but thx anyways
Very quick:
- Install latest Wine-Version
- Install Lutris
- Download Project Landsword
- Extract the ZIP-File
- In Lutris add a new game from local files
- Choose Wine as starter (Info-Tab)
- Choose the extracted .exe as executable (Settings-Tab)
- Choose your extracted folder as Working Directory (Settings-Tab)
- Choose "GE-Proton (latest)" as Wine-Version (Options-Tab)
- Save and Have Fun!
It's possible that you have to start and cancel it twice or more. But after that it should run with one try.
When I installed the game and tried to play it, I got an error, what is it? or what is it due to?
Does it occur when you try to start a mission? If so, download and install the DirectX patch in the description above. That'll fix it.
Thanks for the explanation. At this point, I would say something else to express my gratitude, but I don't know what to say. So, I'll just say thank you and wish you much success in your future projects.
I haven't found the DirectX patch, could you give me more details?

Download this, run it and install it. See if the game works after you do that.
looking forward to buy the game at full release. awesome work so far! (ingame ambient soundtrack would be nice) :) <3
Thanks for playing! An in-game soundtrack is coming, I know things can get kind of quiet right now.
Conceptually this feels like a better focused Brigaddor, in poroduction value, given enough time you could get better than them (but they're pretty good!)
Anyways, take my MCDonald Meal, I really hope you get this game as feature complete as you wish it to be.
Yes also customary brrrrrrt.
Thanks for playing and the kind words! I doubt I'll be able to match the quality of them, but it's very kind of you to say.
Cheers for the support as well! It's much appreciated.
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT!!!
Hi, first of i just want to mention how absolutely stunning this game is, no other game (that iv played) has hit me so hard with its beauty, i adore the art style and speedy feel everything has. I want to say more however whenever i click to deploy the game crashes and gives me this error code:

This is probably an error from my end but do you have any ideas to why the game wont deploy? the game opens well and i can use the hanger as well.
Hello. To fix that error, please download and install this DirectX patch from the Microsoft website. This will fix any shader compile errors you are having.
i need help when i run the game it said error code then there's no way to get out
Does the error happen when you try to start a mission, or the moment you run the game?
when i start a mission
Download the DirectX patch in the description above.

Greetings from Japan.

I really love this game.

The game is beautiful! Will there be support for controllers? Twin stick would bring it all together perfectly!
I'm glad you liked it! Twin-stick gamepad support is coming, I know it'd really fit with the gameplay style.

As a fellow curios game developer, how many people are working on it and from how much time? :)
Thank you for playing! At the moment, it's been roughly 300 days of development. It still has a long way to go, but the main gameplay is shaping up.
Bro.....! This is on whole another level!
Cheers!
Cant wait to buy wheanever its finished
Thank you!
What an absolute gem! Can't wait to see how it develops. Will definitely buy the full version. You're doing a great job so far!

I'm in the process of implementing a melee system right now, it's a highly requested feature. Thanks for playing!
Come on, you should build your steam page now! Because we will forget this game without wishlist
I'll put up an announcement when the time comes and link it on the page. Don't worry, it's still coming.
Next level amazing!
Thanks!

All my support, it is an amazing work you've made with this game, congrats!! I will be aware of the progress!!
